Our Story as a Maryland Home Inspection Company
Smart Home Inspects is a locally and family owned company based in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Co-founded by Deise (Daisy) Rezende and Emerson Rezende, the company has operated since August 2015 and provides thorough evaluations that help buyers, sellers, and property owners make informed decisions.
Our core Maryland service area includes Montgomery, Prince George's, Howard, and Frederick Counties. Our work is built on technical education, hands-on construction experience, and continued investment in specialized training.

Co-Owner | Certified Master Inspector
Emerson Rezende is the co-owner of Smart Home Inspects and Smart Home Radon, a Maryland licensed home inspector since 2005, and a Certified Master Inspector with extensive experience in residential and commercial property inspections.
His inspections provide a comprehensive evaluation of structural, mechanical, and environmental systems, helping buyers, sellers, and property managers clearly understand a property's condition and next steps.
With his Certified Master Inspector designation and commitment to continuing education, Emerson sets a high standard for quality and integrity in the inspection industry. He is dedicated to ensuring every client walks away with clarity, confidence, and peace of mind.
Daisy Rezende
Co-Owner | Environmental Inspection Specialist
Deise (Daisy) Rezende is the co-owner of Smart Home Inspects and Smart Home Radon, where she specializes in radon, mold-related work, and water quality inspections. She is an NRPP Radon Measurement Professional and Soil Gas Mitigation Compliance Inspector and a Maryland Department of the Environment certified water sampler.
Daisy completed a Certificate of Attendance through Aerosol Monitoring & Analysis, Inc. in March 2021 for mold-inspection training. Her work brings together specialized environmental testing, client education, and clear guidance for property owners and professionals.
With a background that combines technical expertise, industry involvement, and community engagement, Daisy brings clarity, professionalism, and a strong commitment to client education. Her mission is simple: to help clients understand their environment, protect their health, and make confident decisions about their properties.
