A consumer test can be a useful way to begin learning about a property. Professional measurement may be especially useful when placement, documentation, quality procedures, or a real-estate or regulated context needs closer attention.
A consistent testing process
Professional measurement focuses on selecting an appropriate location, following the device’s instructions, documenting the test conditions, and explaining how the result relates to the property and the reason for testing.
Those steps can matter when a home has multiple foundation areas, different HVAC zones, an unusual layout, or a transaction deadline.
Quality assurance and documentation
Quality systems can include device handling, calibration or quality-control requirements that apply to the measurement method, clear records, and procedures for identifying interference or unusual conditions.
