When should radon testing occur during new construction?
Testing timing depends on construction completion, building readiness, access, HVAC operation, and the purpose of the measurement. We discuss the project conditions before placement rather than applying one date to every home.
Does the HVAC system need to be operating before testing?
Building operation and HVAC status are relevant to a representative measurement. We provide project-specific preparation guidance based on the home, its systems, and the applicable measurement protocol.
Can you test multiple homes in the same development?
Yes. We can discuss repeatable scheduling, project contacts, access coordination, and consistent reporting for phases, communities, and multiple properties.
Can you test homes with passive radon-resistant construction?
Yes. Passive radon-resistant features are part of the building context we consider when planning measurement. The presence of a passive system does not replace measuring indoor radon conditions.
What happens if a new home has an elevated radon result?
We document and report the result so the builder and project team can evaluate appropriate next steps. Follow-up testing or mitigation decisions depend on the result, building conditions, and project circumstances.
Do you install radon mitigation systems?
No. Smart Home Inspects is a measurement and inspection company; we do not install or sell radon mitigation systems. That keeps our measurement service independent of mitigation work that may result from findings.
